‘Foundation course’ varies with every design institute and is a year-long undertaking for UG/ bachelors programmes. Drawing is usually the first stepping stone to this journey.
While PG/ Master’s students don’t have the same time and priviledge, NID Ahmedabad had a six-week foundation course conducted for the first semester, communication design students hailing from varied backgrounds. It covered drawing, color and composition. Glimpses of the two-week drawing module from 2018.
